Google Analytics syntax error

I'm currently using Dreamweaver to build a website for the school I work at, and now that we're populating the site with content, departments are being given copies of Contribute to add their content to the site.  I've added Google Analytics for the marketing director to keep up with traffic, but when ever someone with Contribute publishes a page, the "")); //-->" of the analytics code shows up at the bottom of the screen. There's only one or two editable regions for the main text of the page, so there is no way the Contribute users can get to the code.

When I open the file with Dreamweaver, I'm told that there is a syntax error on the line where the Google Analytics ends.  See code below:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("<script src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'></script>
"));
//-->

</script>

For me to fix this problem, I check out the corresponding Dreamweaver template for that page, and resave it, and update all of the pages using this template.  At this point the syntax error goes away, until someone with Contribute publishes a page.

Any ideas?
