I have designed a site in Dreamweaver, and use Contribute to update the content in an editable region on each page. The only editable region on each page is this small zone that has text.
I am running into an issue in my unedtiable region where Contribute is adding a space between my menu bar and the top banner. See below.
Before using Contribute, right before the menu bar looks like this:

After using Contribute, the menu bar looks like this:

<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;"></p>
<div id="menubar"><ul id="nav" name="nav">

The "<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;"></p>" is being added, but I can not figure out how/why. Has anyone had this issue before or have any troubleshooting ideas?
