Contribute many options grayed out !

I recently purchased Contribute CS4 ....

Many of my options  ....are grayed out.  Example, I click on Format and Text & Highlight color, Size and Font > (options) , edit image, Table - 7 out of 9, File- close draft, save as, etc.. all grayed out and therefore unable to use. Java script is enabled.
