Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem

Hello. My computer crashed 3 months ago and I had to get a new one. It's an imac and luckily, I had a backup of it on a seperate drive. (Time machine). This computer is for the Contribute application only and not the server.

I am able to connect to my server via ftp client software on my computer just fine, but when I try to connect using Contribute I get Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.

I was told to please check in the server for the folder permission, but I'm not sure what this means. The only place I see a contribute file is in the mm folder. I chose that file and changed its' permission to 777. Checked all. Assume this is wrong, especially since it is still not working.

I tried to re-input the ftp info. in my connections but had the same problem

I'm running an imac 10.8.2.

Thanks for any help.
